Curious how leagues will be handling Travis Hunter this year? We use IDP in our league. Will the owner have to designate only one position? Or will he get credit for points earned on offense as well as defense regardless of which roster spot he is in?
Commissioner has control over that. Every league I have seen has him scoring either as a corner or a WR, but not both. Allowing both way scoring is just dumb and will piss everyone off. Your commish needs to check the scoring configuration.
He was the 3rd rookie taken in both my keeper leagues behind the 2 RBs.
I don't even know how scoring works for a WR/CB. If you have receiving scoring set to RB-WR-TE only, will Hunter get receiving points when he is in a IDP slot because he is listed as a WR/CB?
That's not a chance I was willing to take, so he's a WR in my leagues and I'm fine giving him defensive points. There's never been a player like him in fantasy, so there's potential to piss everyone off but I'm confident in my scoring system and my communication to managers prior to our drafts.
It is dependent on the roster position he is started in. If you have a league that has the reception points set to ALL, then the optimal thing to do is put him in as a CB, and then you get all the receiver points too. It is like having an extra receiver on your team who also get defensive points, and he doesn't eat up a WR slot. In fact, even if he scores no defensive points, you are still sneaking an extra WR on the roster. I'm curious to see about leagues that are paying no attention to this now, but probably will if Hunter is as advertised. As to your example, Hunter is eligible to play either WR or CB, but there is no WR/CB position, so if you have receiving scoring set to RB-WR-TE , then he gets no receiving points when started as a CB. It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out.
I don't know if you're correct about scoring. I think the scoring might be based on what position the player is, NOT what lineup position the player is in.
I could be wrong, but I checked to see what happens in my leagues with a RB/WR flex. I give points to RBs for yards after contact (while WRs don't) and it applies to the RBs in the Flex and not just the RB position.

Respectfully disagree. In my IDP leagues, I have decree that he is only eligible in lineups as a WR but gets the points for playing defence.

Well, that is certainly more reasonable than him playing in the CB slot and getting points for offense.

We track total yardage for all positions/players. If they on the field and contributing they are GMs are being awarded points.
That said we are using him both as WR/CB points. I think Jax will eventually pick a position.
