I just realized there's been a problem with our scoring all season (we've accidentally not been counting sacks as negative points against quarterbacks, like we intended).

If I make a scoring change now, in the middle of the season, will it impact games already completed? Or just take effect for the rest of the season's games?

It will not impact past games, but will impact games moving forward (including those that did not finalize yet).

If we wanted to change something in our scoring system, is there a way to recalculate all scores for the entire year?

I've also stumbled across some scoring errors which don't match up with a players stat line. I'd like to recalculate the entire season whether we change our scoring rule or not.

What scoring errors are you referring to? Everything is correct in the database regarding scores. If there's something in particular you want us to look at, we can.

I can check with our head programmer to see if we can recalculate the whole season using your new scoring rule, but I'm not 100% sure if we are able to retroactively put it into place for you. Please let me know a couple of things:

1) What scoring errors do you see that don't match up? It's possible that a stat change or so changed that reflects the correct NFL stats (like the Nicks statistic), but the commissioner never gave us the discretion to change it.

2) Please change the scoring rule and let us know if you want us to retroactively change it for you or not. I can then see if we can when you're ready.

Thanks

First, I changed the rule to our scoring system. It was the allow negative points rule. we never noticed it was wrong until Torain had -5 rushing yards this week.

Second, I only looked around at a few players to see if the negative rule was affecting them. I came accross H.Nicks in week #2 scoring 9 pts but when I check his stat breakdown, he should have scored 11.8. Couldn't understand why and was concerned that other errors had occurred.

Let me know when you guys figure out whether or not you can recalculate the entire season with the rule change. I appreciate the help, considering it was my screw up setting the rule wrong to begin with.

I will ask our head programmer this week. The Nicks stat is the only one that should be like that really for this year.

Matt, we can't retroactively do it in our system but I can do it manually for you if you tell me the scoring change and I will comb through each game and make the changes. Just let me know the league and what scoring change you made.

Thanks.

The rule change was to not allow negative points. I missed the little box to check when I set up scoring. I don't think it's necessary for you to go through manually and change it. It's only occured a handful of times and doesn't affect any wins or losses. Thanks for your help.

@fleaflicker I recently did a scoring rules change. We were subtracting a point per completion against. We've since changed that is there a way to retroactively change our scores for the year?
