I have a serious problem by the manual production of the Schedules.
The engine automatically exchanges with possibly half of the meetings the home right. This leads to the fact that some teams have 14 away matches and other up to 12 home matches.
I know, this does not matter to the play company, but it looks not good, however and I would be glad if somebody had a council like one can remove the problem or handle.
The Schedule provided by the engine are no option, because we have worked out a specially program for our leagues.
Is there an update on this? I would like our custom schedule to have accurate home/away.
Our league utilizes a home/away feature that I would like to show on Fleaflicker.
Our league is basically touchdowns only, although you can get bonuses for big yardages games. As a result, it is not uncommon for tie scores. Our Sixth and final tiebreaker is home team wins (I manually enter the extra 3 points on the box score).
This tiebreaker in our league comes into play a couple times a season.
There's no way to specify which team is home and which is away when you customize a schedule.
I'll update it later this week so that the first team is the away team and the second team is the home team. (This is the convention used on all boxscores.)
For now it shouldn't matter because home/away designations have no affect on the games. They're just cosmetic.
Ori you can not assume that home/away designations by all leagues are just cosmetic. In our league we give a "home field" advantage of 3.5 points to the team that is home. So it is crucial to have that designation available. It would be nice to also have that rule added. Its a unique scoring option that i bet other leagues would use if they had that. In my opinion, it futher represents how the true NFL is, who wants to play the colts at home, or packers?
hey, broflowski, its a random way to give 3.5 points to a home team. This was a rule we put in 20 years ago when we first started out league and we have just kept it like this. And in fact, last years champ game was won by .5. And theres been many other games won by the home field option. I've kept this rule in to mirror the real NFL and how the home field gives advantages to real teams. Thats why.
No offense, but it is 2008 not 1988, I'd say the rule makes zero sense and I would just remove it. Very few fantasy sites would allow for such a unique distinction anyway.
....and I thought the drafting of head coaches (1 point per win) was odd.
I'd have to disagree. Home field advantage is very real in the NFL today and as such, gives the home team a very real advantage. I think the bonus that atrainboiler gives is a good thing.
This is the beauty of Fantasy Football, you can tailor your league to how you want it too be. If all leagues were the same why would there be so many different sites doing fantasy leagues what would be the point in that. You would be shocked at how many times someone has won by that 3.5 points. IF that was not in there it wouldnt make any differece on who was home or away, but since it is, it makes a huge difference. And would you like to travel to Indy and play in this dome? or go to NE? or any other great home team? I dont think so. Fantasy has changed so much in 20 years that ive done it, no one would have heard of drafting defensive players and look at that now! Again the beauty of fantasy sports.
