We have no problem tweaking seedings to make the actual playoff bracket work the way we want, but the issue is the consolation bracket:
The 13 & 14 seed drop off as the consolation mirrors the bye week format. Previous leagues it's always just put all 8 teams in and had four opening games with no byes.
Unfortunately, the consolation brackets are set up automatically and are dependent on the overall size of the league and the number of teams going into the playoffs. There could be teams left at the bottom not in a bracket. You can still have those teams set their lineups and you'll be able to see their total points, and you can opt to declare your consolation winners offline if you like. And when the new season activates, you can customize the draft order as needed if you use this outcome as part of your draft order. Please email me back if you have additional questions!
We have this problem too though slightly different. We have 6 teams in the consolation but for us is an all out points race and having two of the teams get "byes" for the consolation means they won't get scored. Or will they? I just need a way to know what points their starting lineup produced in that week even if they aren't matched up. So my question is essentially this: will teams that aren't playing a game during playoff weeks still get a score?
all they have to do is set their starters. When you click on scores for current games going on for the week. Look to the left and should show all teams and what their scores are even if they are not playing for the week

So we have following setup:
* 14 teams
* 2 Divisions
* 6 Playoff teams (3 each division)
* First round bye for division winners
* Remaining 8 team consolation bracket

Thanks, Tracy. Not ideal, but at least I know I'm not missing something.

Yes they should. If you view each team individually after the week you should see a points total.
