Does anyone have a concrete set of rules for this type of league:

EXAMPLE, QB Cam Newton was drafted in the 13th round last year (2011). If kept, this year he would account for the teams 11th round pick in this year’s draft (2012). If kept again, the following year he would be considered the 9th round pick (2013)

Ok...What should I do in this scenario:

Arian Foster was drafted in the first round last year

MJD was drafted in the second round last year

I obviously can't take a pick away two rounds ahead because this is the first two picks...What do I do?

In my league you can't protect anyone taken in Rounds 1 or 2

We do the 2 round thing. Any prior year draft pick can be protected with pick 2 rounds earlier. Exception is for waiver pickups. We do 14th (out of 15) round protect for first waiver and15th round for your second waiver protection (only 2 waiver players can be protected). We use a max of 4 protections per team, which I think is actually too high.

My league uses something similar. We just take the round for every keeper and lose one the following year. You can edit the draft order round by round in Fleaflicker and just delete the pick. Let me know if you need help.

Just wanted to thank you for posting this here, Hal! Was trying to set up a new keeper league for some friends and wanted to ensure that there was a way to "give up" draft picks for keepers.

Thanks for your help!
