Did you clowns ever get your stupid red flag rules ironed out?? I plan on droping all public leagues and a few keepers this uncoming season and don't want your flag hanging around my name, as I am starting a few leagues of people I know that don't cheat, and aren't as stupid as most of your players. Give me a answer or post the rules. If I gets a red flag this off-season could be a very unpleasant one.

Hal, you said he shouldn't get a flag if dropping leagues now? We aren't allowed to drop, remove or be removed at this time. I consider this the off season and in once the football side reopens on March 1st, would that be to off season still?
Well, you will not be able to even remove yourself from a football league right now, as you'll get the message: "You cannot perform this action this late in the season. Wait until next season."
Scotto could have been referring to the other sports above. But in football, you can't remove yourself until we go live in March. Then you will be able to drop out of a league - with good reason - and should not receive a red flag. In the event that you do receive one, and you are dropping a league for good reason in a fair-mannered way, we will remove the red flag for you if you happen to get one when requested to leave a league.
The red flags are vital for our system and it serves many purposes. Most importantly, it serves as a warning to new members who may join a new league and are making sure their commissioner is square or not. It also filters out the bad apples from joining a league, so the commissioner can disallow anyone with a bad reliability rating (red flag) to enter their league. It is a gatekeeper, per se.
Why is draft no shows an issue? Isn't the whole point of ranking your players and the auto pick so that you don't need to be at the draft? I did it with basketball and I'm sure I ended up with a better team then the one I could have picked myself. It is a fleaflicker option to do that and it should not be frowned on! The inactivity is a big deal, but even then you need to remember things come up sometimes and it is an issue that will never go away. All we can do is move on and hope to find a replacement.
No, I'm not kidding, it is a Flea option to auto pick. If you have a problem with their system then maybe you should come up with ideas for them to improve it rather then call the people who do it flag worthy. You can also be just as screwed when some moron does show up to the draft and wants to draft all the players from his favorite team.
I just pulled this out of the Fleaflicker help menu and it was under frequently asked questions. Is there an auto-draft feature?
Yes. Owners that are unable to attend the draft will automatically have players selected for them using the pre-draft rankings they specify. The rest of the league will not have to wait for the clock to expire on absent owners--players are automatically selected on their behalf after 5 seconds
So you see it is advertised by Flea and I can't believe that Hal said you could report people for it and they would remove them. So Hal is this Fleaflickers new stance on the matter?
No, not at all Dark: What I was saying is that if a user is inactive for an extended period of time, they can be removed by the commissioner or an admin. Live draft no shows are no problem at all, as long as they check their team within the next few days/weeks/short period of time after the draft and stay active. We actually encourage users to use the automated draft feature if they can't make the draft; only one user has to be present for the live draft - the rest can be pre-ranked and run smoothly. The problem with draft no shows is if they become inactive after a considerable amount of time (2 - 3 months), then they are a candidate to be removed as they considered a "deadbeat owner."
Hope this clears it up for you guys. We have no problem with owners unable to make the draft - pre-draft rankings are awesome to use and encouraged; just make sure one owner is present for the live draft.
Yes, thanks for clearing that up. I'am with you 100% on what you just said. The way you had worded it earlier it seemed that you agreed with Deen that draft no shows were bad. I don't see it as a bad thing as long as they intend to be active after the draft.
Of course theres an option to auto pick but alot of owners dont..Thats what im saying.
If people arent relaible enough to draft and set line ups then there really isnt much of a difference between them and owners who drop out of leagues..They are all unreliable.
You should not get a red flag if you drop leagues during the off-season - you can do this in about a month. If you somehow do get a red flag (which you should not get if dropping leagues now), contact us and we'll have it removed for you as soon as possible.

I can understand having the flag system but what I dont get is why do only the drop outs get them and not owners who go inactive and miss drafts?
As a commish im more concerned about inactivity and draft no shows..If a owner drops out yeah it sucks but at least I can replace him sooner.
FleaMod AdminThu 2/4/10 2:52 PM
Inactivity/Draft No Shows, you report directly to us using the contact button above and we either remove them or have the commissioner remove them.

You gotta be kidding me.. Why are draft no shows an issue?
If they dont pre rank, it can screw up an entire draft thanks to the auto picks..It can even be screwed when they prerank..
Not to mention, if you join a league the least you can do is show up for the draft.
deenThu 2/4/10 6:01 PM
In a 10 team hoops league, 2 of us showed up for the draft and 1 of them was me..
Yeah, no shows isnt an issue..
Draft no shows and deadbeats can ruin a league just as much if not more than a drop out.
