Last week I "Added" a TE and a TM. I could immediately removed them, so I didn't worry about it too much. When game day came which was over 48 hrs later, I couldn't cut them.
We looked through the league rules and can't figure out why this was the deal. I am a commish and have no idea why I wouldn't be able to drop someone that I've had for over 48 hrs if I could have dropped them right away.
The TE didn't play and the defense underperformed. As I couldn't drop them before the game, it almost cost me... I won by 1.5 thanks to Reggie Wayne and his final TD.
You have "lock recently added" enabled. This means that you can't cut a player you recently acquired within 24 hours prior to their games. This feature is there so that people don't pick up a bunch of players and then cut them close to game time just so others can't pick them up for that week.
If you pick up a player on Tuesday, you can still cut that player on Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri, and Saturday morning (unless they play in the stupid Thursday night games, then you can still cut them until Wednesday afternoon).
Basically, owners can gain an unfair advantage by adding and immediately dropping players, preventing other owners from acquiring them until the following week. Fleaflicker can lock recently-added players within 24/48 hours of their kickoff (depending on your waiver settings) to
ensure this does not happen.
Since you had multiple teams Pete, I was not sure which one you were inquiring about -- but I checked both of your leagues and Voltron is correct in this instance with the "lock recently added" feature. It is dependent on your individual league -- both of your leagues have this enabled, so that would be the reason. Most leagues have Lock Recently Added to yes. You can check this out by going to your League and then League Rules. Also, make sure that the transaction deadline has not passed and that your roster is legal - if the deadline passed or if your roster is illegal, you would not be able to make the move either. To check to see if a roster is legal, go to your Roster and look on the right side of the page. To check your transaction deadline, go to your League Rules.
You should be able to get rid of the player as long as your league does not have a deadline on add/drops - some leagues put a deadline on adds/drops. Also, if you have an illegal roster, you will be unable to make any moves. If neither of the above applies to your league or team, let us know the team and the league and we'll look into it for you. Thanks.
