I asked my member to send me their keepers via email thinking i could edit their rosters. Is this not an option for the commissioner?

This will only work if every team in the league has all keepers selected to the maximum. If so, go to Edit Rosters>These are the keepers (for all teams) and then back to Edit Rosters>These are the complete rosters but still draft this season.

This will only work though if all teams have every single keeper selected to you max. The details are below.

That will work fine if everyone's keepers are set and they have the max amount set. So if you keep 3 players, every team must have their 3 players selected. If some teams aren't keeping all their players (they are keeping 1 or 2), that won't work because it will select 3 players for that team -- or you can manually remove the extra keepers it selects. Otherwise, that will work fine. Do that and then go to Edit Rosters>These are the complete rosters after you select These are the keepers (for all teams). You'll be set. If you need further help, or you need us to set his keepers, let us know with a link to the league, his team, and his keepers and we can set them for him if you have any issues.

Hey FleaMod

My league is full dynasty, each team keeps their entire roster (25 players) from year to year. Do the owners need to manually set 25 keepers, or will selecting Edit Rosters>These are the keepers (for all teams) do that for all teams in the league? I didn't want to accidentally remove untagged players from team rosters.

Thanks!

That will work perfectly for you then if all teams are keeping every player on their rosters. Edit Rosters>These are the keepers (for all teams). All players will be selected as keepers here to the max.

After you do that, just go ahead and start the draft after increasing the number of total players from 25.

FleaMod - Does choosing "These are the keepers (for all teams)" select players as keepers that are on IR? If so, that would mean I have to force managers to select their keepers manually in able to hold a rookie draft, correct? Otherwise it would select IR players, putting us at or near the 40 man limit which would automatically remove draft picks.

Starting email draft tomorrow a.m.

FleaMod Admin Fri 6/26/15 5:28 PM

Players on IR will move to the bench by doing that (but stay as keepers) so make sure that no roster max is exceeded and they'll be kept. Or else they'll have to trim rosters/select keepers manually.

IBBran Fri 6/26/15 5:48 PM

So how do we draft 6 rounds? I'm having everyone trim rosters so that [players + picks = 40]. Not including IR which holds up to 6 players also.

From what I've found on forum responses, either selecting all players as keepers will not give the correct amount of draft picks or not selecting all players as keepers (IR guys) would send these guys to the free agent pool??

This is how one of my leagues handles a 4-round draft:

"Go to Team Owner Options and Set Your Keepers. Our draft only goes four rounds, so if your Future Draft Picks section shows picks in Rounds 5 or above, you need to set more keepers. You can always drop these players after the draft and pick up replacements when waivers open. If you do not have enough players to set as keepers and keep the draft to four rounds, we will add retired players from the database to temporarily fill your roster. Those players will be released once the draft ends, and you can use the waiver wire to fill out your roster."

Do something similar for your draft. Also, any player on a team's IR that is set as a keeper will count against a team's active roster and limitations.

IBBran Fri 6/26/15 9:43 PM

Yea I just noticed that. If I don't select them as keepers though then they get cut when the draft starts, correct? How do you retain IR players without having them count against your draft picks??

FleaMod Admin Mon 6/29/15 10:04 AM

You would have to select the IR players as regular keepers. There would be no way to do that unfortunately without selecting them as keepers as they would get cut.
