To make it relevant to fantasy football: Day-to-Day is more like "Doubtful" and the rest should be self explanatory. However, Kobe should not be showing as Day-to-Day, he should be Out and we will have it changed soon.
In terms of how this works during the season, if a player is not playing, he is usually deemed out but it has to be about a day in advance or else they'll remain day-to-day or probable (like a game-time decision in the NFL).

In the NBA, there is no IR. So who is actually the final say in who is eligible for flea flicker's IR.
Example: Kobe Bryant is NOT IR eligible, but Rajon Rondo and Louis Williams are.
