McComick, who had been hospitalized due to a blood clot in his leg, appears likely to miss the rest of the season, the Sabres' official site reports. Though McCormick was discharged from the hospital last week, coach Ted Nolan doesn't think that the forward will return to action before the conclusion of the season. "It looks like he's out for the year," Nolan indicated Sunday. "There's nothing official, but that was one of the remarks I heard right at the beginning when he was in the hospital. So right now, I'm not banking on him coming back."

McCormick, who needed to have treatment for a blood clot in his leg, is out of the hospital though there's no timetable for his return, The Buffalo News reports. The Sabres, already without stars among their forward ranks, have a really banged-up unit up front right now, and it sounds like they may be without McCormick's grit and toughness at least a bit longer.

Coach Ted Nolan indicated McCormick has been hospitalized due to a blood clot and is out indefinitely, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports. McCormick has been nursing a lower-body injury but hasn't missed any time since late December. The blood clot diagnosis is obviously concerning, and his timetable for return is undetermined at this point. For now, his biggest concern likely involves getting the blood clot removed.
