Bordeleau was reassigned to San Antonio of the AHL on Wednesday, The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
After missing all but one game last season with back and knee injuries, the hard hitting forward was able to recover in the offseason and come into training camp 100 percent healthy and potentially earn an opening night roster spot, most likely on the fourth line. Unfortunately, Bordeleau will start the season in San Antonio and will look to be called up sometime during the season.

Coach Patrick Roy said Bordeleau (knee) is back to full health in advance of the first day of training camp Friday, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bordeleau was one of the primary culprits of last season's club record for man games missed, as he sat out all but one of the Avs' 82 games due to back surgery and a fractured kneecap. It was the latter injury that formally ended Bordeleau's season, but the offseason provided him with enough time to rehab the injury and return to 100 percent health. With the injury concerns no longer lurking, Bordeleau is expected to fill a role on the Avs' checking line this season. He contributed 115 PIM and 178 hits in that capacity in 2013-14, during which he appeared in all 82 games.

Coach Patrick Roy confirmed Tuesday that Bordeleau won't play again this year. Bordeleau's season was limited to just one game following offseason back surgery and then a knee injury that he sustained on Dec. 20. Assuming he bounces back well from the injuries that slowed him this season, Bordeleau will be a name to file away for those in PIM-friendly formats. Through 129 NHL contests, Bordeleau has racked up 185 penalty minutes to go along with 16 points.

Bordeleau (knee) was on the ice for Tuesday's optional skate, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.Bordeleau was projected to miss 8-to-10 weeks after fracturing his kneecap shortly before Christmas, so it would seem he's unlikely return until late February, at the earliest. His involvement in on-ice work does at least provide some evidence that he's making strides in his recovery.

Bordeleau will miss 8-10 weeks with a fractured kneecap. Unfortunately for the Avs, Bordeleau simply cannot manage to stay healthy this year. After a promising sophomore campaign in which the 28 year old bruiser participated in all 82 of the Avs' games, Bordeleau has only been able to suit up for one of Colorado's 33 games this season. Bordeleau will eye a mid to late February return.

Though he's been activated from injured reserve, Bordeleau (back) will be scratched for Thursday's game against the Penguins, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. Bordeleau's back is feeling fine and he was able to skate at full speed Wednesday, but because he's been sidelined since undergoing offseason surgery, he'll require some more time to regain conditioning. Coach Patrick Roy didn't rule out using Bordeleau for one or both of the Avs' remaining two games on their road trip, set for Saturday in Buffalo and Sunday in Detroit.

Bordeleau (back) was activated from the team's non-roster injury list Sunday. Bordeleau has yet to make his season debut after undergoing back surgery in the offseason. After resuming full-contact practice Friday prior to his activation, it can likely be assumed that he's healthy at this point and will be a lineup option when the Avs resume play Thursday in Pittsburgh. He'll likely serve as a tough guy on the team's fourth line, a role he thrived in last season. He produced 178 hits and spent 115 minutes in the penalty box while averaging just 6:53 of ice time over 82 contests.

Bordeleau (back) was a full-contact participant in Friday's practice, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. Most of Bordeleau's rehab from offseason back surgery has forced him to work out on his own, but his reunion with the team for practice offers hope that his season debut could be around the corner. Because he's been out since training camp, Bordeleau will likely require a multi-game conditioning assignment at AHL Lake Erie before the team activates him from their non-roster injury list. That could come later this month if Bordeleau continues to progress well.

Bordeleau will miss the next three months while he continues to recover from offseason back surgery, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. It wasn't announced during the summer that Bordeleau had planned such a procedure, so his absence from training camp came as a little bit of a surprise. As a fourth-line enforcer, Bordeleau suited up for all 82 games last season for the Avs, compiling 178 hits and 115 penalty minutes. Cody McLeod or Paul Carey could be asked to fill Bordeleau's role on the checking line while he remains sidelined.

Patrick Bordeleau might receive supplemental discipline for kneeing Minnesota's Jared Spurgeon in the third period of Thursday's game. There was no penalty on the play. The incident follows Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke receiving a seven-game suspension for kneeing Tyson Barrie. Given that Bordeleau doesn't have a suspension history like Cooke and Spurgeon isn't expected to miss any playing time, Bordeleau's punishment won't be nearly as severe as Cooke's, if he's punished at all.
