Strait inked a two-year, two-way deal with New Jersey on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Strait played exclusively in the minors this season with AHL Binghamton, for which he tallied three goals, five assists and 52 PIM. Given the Devils' current blue line makeup, it seems likely Strait will spend the upcoming 2018-19 campaign primarily in the minors, but will serve as a solid depth call-up for the organization when injuries inevidentable occur.

Strait landed on the waiver wire Monday, Rick Ralph of TSN 1290 Winnipeg reports.
EDGE Analysis
Strait managed to crack the Jets' game-day lineup just five times last season -- instead spending much of the year with AHL Manitoba where he logged 58 games and tallied 14 points. The Boston University product will join AHL Binghamton if he clears waivers and will probably remain in the minors for much of the 2017-18 campaign.

Strait signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Devils on Saturday. The deal is worth $650,000 at the NHL level and $200,00 in the minors, per CapFriendly.
EDGE Analysis
The Boston University product spent the bulk of the 2016-17 season with AHL Manitoba, a minor-league affiliate of the Jets, producing 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) and 36 PIM over 58 games. He was up in the NHL for five contests, tacking on five assists over that span. New Jersey is the fourth NHL team to have acquired Strait over the course of his career; the Massachusetts native was picked by the Penguins in the third-round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, but he logged just 12 NHL games over two seasons in the Burgh before the Islanders took him in for 170 matches between 2012-16. We'd love to give Strait the benefit of the doubt now that he has a clean slate with a new franchise, but he'll be hard-pressed to earn enough playing time to lift brows in the fantasy realm.

Strait signed a one-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Strait only played five NHL games last season, but he does have a considerable experience -- playing over 45 big league games in a season on three separate campaigns. Although he's never eclipsed the 10-point mark, Strait still stands a chance to possibly snag at least seventh-man role in a young, New Jersey defensive core.

Strait was reassigned to AHL Manitoba on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Strait heads back to the minors now that the Jets are starting to get healthy on the blue line. In addition to having guys back, the 29-year-old appears to have been beaten out for a spot in the lineup by youngsters Julian Melchiori and Nelson Nogier as Winnipeg start thinking about the 2017-18 campaign and evaluating the talent within the organization.

Strait was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Jacob Trouba is dealing with an upper-body injury, so the Jets brought up Strait as insurance ahead of Sunday's home game against the Wild. We view the American defenseman as a stay-at-home type and not someone who will light it up to the benefit of your fantasy team.

Strait was reassigned to AHL Manitoba on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The blueliner was only up for a couple days, and didn't play in a single game. It's no guarantee, but he could just be going down on a temporary basis to play in Manitoba's pair of games this weekend during the All-Star break. If that's the case, he'll find his way back to the big club before Tuesday's game.

Strait was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Strait was sent down to the minors following the conclusion of training camp back in October. Despite the call-up, there is no guarantee that the 29-year-old will get to make his 2016-17 debut given the fact that the Jets are currently carrying eight active defenders on the 23-man roster. The blueliner's production in the minors -- no goals and five helpers -- should be a red flag to fantasy owners considering picking him up.

Strait was placed on waivers Monday in order to reassign him to the minors along with two others.
EDGE Analysis
Strait joined the Jets from the Islanders during the offseason on a one-year deal, but will be sent down to AHL Manitoba if he clears waivers. Last season, the blueliner saw action in just 52 contests and was only able to tally six points in those outings. In addition to Strait, the team also waived Anthony Peluso and Julian Melchiori.

Strait (upper body) signed a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Jets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Strait appeared in 52 games with the Islanders last season, tallying just six points (one goal, five assists) over that span. The 28-year-old blueliner will provide the Jets with additional depth at defense, but may be a healthy scratch more often than not during the 2016-17 campaign. Strait was dealing with an upper-body injury at the end of the 2015-16 season, but should be ready for training camp in September.
