The Maple Leafs acquired tough guy Brad Staubitz from Anaheim in the Peter Holland trade. Staubitz will report to the Marlies of the AHL for the time being. From a fantasy perspective, should Staubitz return to the NHL he can contribute penalty minutes but has no offensive ability.

Brad Staubitz made a rare appearance on Sunday. It was only the 14th game of the season that Staubitz has seen action in as the Ducks have not needed his tough play of late. He saw only 6:22 minutes of action but led the team with five hits as he certainly was throwing his weight around. "My tanks are full," Staubitz quipped. "The assistant coaches I've been working with have been great. I've been staying motivated and everything. A good group of guys. It makes it easier that way. You do your thing, you work hard and you wait for your chances to play and contribute."

Brad Staubitz was activated from the IL on Monday March 18.

Brad Staubitz practiced with his Duck teammates for the first time Thursday since sustaining facial lacerations in a game a week ago. He did wear a visor to protect the 35 stitches he needed to repair the damage sustained when Alex Tanguay's skate sliced his face. Don't think Staubitz will be fighting in the near future which negates any fantasy value he may have.
