Wojtek Wolski has signed with Torpedo Nizhni Novgorod of the KHL. He wasn't utilized much by the Washington Capitals during the lockout-shortened season and was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Wolski produced four goals and five assists in 27 games with the Caps.

Wojtek Wolski is projected to play on the fourth line again on Thursday. "He has to play the game. If you play the game correct, he's got the skillset, he'll get some points," Capitals coach Adam Oates said of Wolski. "For me, I need him to play solid, and if he does, gets rewarded with a goal tonight, great. That's a bonus." Wolski is worth keeping an eye on if he gets another chance on one of the Capitals' top two lines, but for now he doesn't have any fantasy value.

Wojtek Wolski was demoted to the fourth line during Friday's practice. At best, that is where Wolski will play Saturday against the Jets. There is also a chance he may sit in the press box as a healthy scratch for the contest. Wolski has been a streaky player all his life but we believe NHL teams and coaches have had enough of his act. If he is on your squad, cut him.

Wojtek Wolski skated on Washington's top line during Thursday's morning skate. He occupied the left side with Alex Ovechkin on the right and Nicklas Backstrom at center. "I think I'm working hard, I'm moving my feet," said Wolski who scored in the Capitals' opener. "I'm getting up in the play and creating opportunities, turnovers. I think that's going to give Nicky and Ovi the opportunity to get some scoring chances." Marcus Johansson, who had that spot in the first two games of the year, has been demoted to the fourth line.

Wojtek Wolski is slated to open up on the Capitals' second line. Wolski is getting yet another chance to contribute in a top-six role in the NHL. He'll be on a line with a great playmaker at center in Mike Ribeiro and Troy Brouwer at right wing. It's a situation worth monitoring because he's still 26 and three seasons from performing at a reasonable level, but we have our doubts this will stick: In 104 games over the last two seasons (spent with three different teams), he has only 47 points.

Wojtek Wolski will participate in Wednesday's RBC Play Hockey Charity Challenge in Toronto. The game will be played at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, inside the old and historic Maple Leaf Gardens. Wolski has played in Poland for some of the lockout after signing a one-year deal with Washington this past summer.

Despite getting two goals from former NHLer Wojtek Wolski, Polish club KH Sanok lost 5-3 to Zhlobin of Belarus in the third round of the Continental Cup. The Continental Cup is a tournament that pits the champions of certain countries' leagues against each other. The final round is scheduled for mid-January. Wolski's Sanok team is 0-2 in this round.

Wojtek Wolski will reportedly play for KH Sanok in Poland during the NHL lockout. He is expected to make the signing official when he arrives on October 14th. Wolski produced just four goals and 12 points in 31 games with the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers this past season. He is slated to play in Washington's top-six forward group when the NHL resumes play.

Wojtek Wolski has been informed that the Washington Capitals see him as a top-six forward. "It's definitely in that role. There's already so many great players in those top two lines," Wolski said. "I'd like to help fill another spot in that area. I think we're going to have a lot of success." Wolski inked a one-year/$600,000 contract with Washington. This is a great opportunity for him and he's consequently worth keeping a very close eye on.

Wojtek Wolski has agreed to a one-year/$600,000 contract with the Washington Capitals. Wolski has fallen well short of expectations over the past two years, but given the terms of the signing, this is a pretty solid deal for Washington. He's worth keeping an eye on during training camp in case he can crack a top-six spot with the Capitals. However, we wouldn't recommend drafting him in standard leagues.
