Voynov (suspension) was fined $100,000 by the NHL for his impermissible participation in Tuesday's optional skate, Josh Cooper of Yahoo! Sports reports. Under the terms of Voynov's indefinite suspension, the blueliner isn't allowed to participate in any team-related functions or activities, which led the league to come down hard with the fine. He'll still be able to use the Kings' facilities, but won't be permitted to have contact with his teammates until the suspension is lifted.

Voynov (suspension) joined the Kings on the ice for Tuesday's optional skate, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Voynov had been away from the team since Oct. 20 after he had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. He was later charged with a felony count of corporal injury to spouse and had his first preliminary hearing Monday, which was supposed to bar him from participating in practice with the team, per an authorization from the league office. It's not clear if the NHL has since revised its ruling or if Voynov is openly violating the terms of his suspension, but if it's the ladder, expect the league office to provide comment on the matter.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday that Voynov has been charged with one felony count of corporal injury to spouse, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports. Voynov's lawyer said he didn't want to provide a comment at this time. After investigating the circumstances surrounding Voynov's Oct. 20 domestic violence arrest, the Redondo Beach Police Department confirmed that Voynov had caused great bodily injury to his wife, who suffered harm to her "eyebrow, cheek and neck," according to the release from the DA office. The police department indicated that their investigation will remain ongoing, but given the felony charge that Voynov is now facing, which carries a maximum of nine years in prison, it's looking increasingly likely that the blueliner won't suit up for the Kings again this season.

Voynov figures to remain in limbo until at least a December 1 court appearance, CBC reports. "His legal situation continues to be somewhat uncertain," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said. "We're kind of waiting to see if there are developments there, but there's no certainty there will be before the beginning part of December. We're kind of playing it day by day." Voynov has been suspended without pay since his October 20 arrest, though no charges have been filed yet. The Los Angeles district attorney has until December 1 to file any charges at which point there may begin to be some clarity around his situation going forward.

Voynov's agent will attempted to have the defenseman's indefinite suspension lifted by the NHL, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports. Though the Redondo Beach Police Department's investigation into Voynov's October domestic violence arrest remains ongoing, Voynov's agent, Rolland Hedges, noted that a section of the collective bargaining agreement allows players to apply for a hearing with the NHL on legal cases. If Voynov is given the opportunity to appeal to the NHL, he could be allowed to return to the ice until prosecutors reach a conclusion on the case. Voynov has been out of action since Oct. 19, missing a total of seven games thus far.

Voynov isn't expected to hear any new information this week on the status of his domestic violence charge, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports. A Redondo Beach Police Department spokesman said that the case is still under review by the district attorney's office, with NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly also relaying that Voynov's situation remains unchanged. He'll continue to count against the Kings' salary cap total while he remains under indefinite suspension, though Daly wouldn't close the door on offering the team some financial relief for the unique situation. Voynov's attorney has reiterated that the defenseman committed no crime when he was arrested last week.

Voynov's attorney is hopeful that the indefinite suspension could be lifted soon, the Los Angeles Times reports. Voynov's attorney contends that the criminal case against Voynov has no merit and that the injuries and subsequent investigation were muddied by some language issues on both sides. Voynov figures to miss his first game since the incident when the Kings take on the Sabres on Thursday.

Voynov has been suspended indefinitely by the NHL following his arrest Monday morning on charges of domestic violence, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports. It's very early in the investigation process right now, but it appears that Voynov could miss significant time in light of the severity of the charges. Considering the mess that the NFL recently got into, expect the NHL to come down hard on Voynov if the accusations turn out to be true.

Going into tonight's Game 3, defenseman Slava Voynov has played in 116 games since the first exhibition game on September 15. That's an awful lot of hockey and it includes five games for Russia at the Olympics. Voynov has to be feeling it but with only 11 days left in the season at most, the end is in sight.
