Hainsey recorded a goal and an assist in Sunday's loss to the Blues.
EDGE Analysis
Hainsey carried a long drought into the contest, as he hadn't appeared on the scoresheet since Jan. 24 and hadn't found the back of the net since Dec. 6. The 34-year-old was off to a decent start to the season, but his second half slump limits his value only to the deepest of formats.

Hainsey enters the All-Star break with three assists in his last seven games. He now has 14 points in 51 games this season.
EDGE Analysis
Don't look now, but the 34-year-old Hainsey is on pace for a 20+ point campaign, something he hasn't done since 2009-10 when he played for the Atlanta Thrashers. The Canes are mainly counting on Hainsey for veteran leadership and to help mentor their young, up-and-coming defensemen, including Brett Pesce, Noah Hanifin and Jaccob Slavin. But the fact that he's also contributing on the scoresheet is an added bonus. In fantasy terms, he boasts modest value in deeper formats.

Hainsey picked up a goal and an assist in Carolina's 5-4 win over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Hainsey is off to a strong start in December, recording three points in as many games. Sunday was the defenseman's first multiple point game of the year. Although 34-year-old is second on the team in ice time at 22:21 per game, he does not play on either of Arizona's power-play units.

Hainsey had a strong game in Saturday's 3-2 upset win over the Canadiens. He had an assist in 25:31 of ice time, along with five hits, three blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-1 rating.
EDGE Analysis
Hainsey now has seven points on the season, putting him on pace for his first 20-point campaign in six seasons. He continues to offer decent fantasy value in deeper leagues.

Hainsey posted an assist in Monday's 3-2 OT loss to the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
After recording just 10 points all of last year, Hainsey is now halfway there with five points in just 21 games this season. Given his lack of scoring punch relative to the league's better defensemen, Hainsey offers modest fantasy value in deep formats onl. However be wary of his team-worst minus-15 rating, which will hurt you in leagues that reward for plus-minus.

Hainsey assisted on the Canes' only goal during Friday's 4-1 loss to Dallas. It was just his fourth point on the season.
EDGE Analysis
Hainsey doesn't offer much by way of fantasy value at this stage of his career. His main role is to play a solid defensive game by killing penalties and blocking shots. He leads his team in shorthanded ice time with 2:24 per game, and is also tops in blocked shots with 20. If your fantasy league rewards these stat categories, then Hainsey may be of some use to you. He will never contribute much on the scoresheet, however.

Hainsey scored the game-winner in Thursday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Hainsey received a saucer pass from Jordan Staal and beat Thomas Greiss to seal the two points for Carolina. It was Hainsey's second game-winning goal in a row, as he got the decisive score in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Detroit. The veteran blue liner has already matched his goal total from last season, but is still a far cry from warranting a pick up.

Hainsey registered 25:20 of ice time and went plus-1 in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
Hainsey missed the Hurricanes final two preseason games with a groin injury, but it appears that ailment is now behind him, as his 25:20 of ice time was good for second most on the team. He'll continue to serve as a top-pair defender for Carolina going forward.

Hainsey missed Tuesday's preseason game against the Capitals with a lower-body injury, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
No word yet on the severity of the injury, but with the Canes' season opener against the Predators just a week away, it certainly puts Hainsey's availability for that game squarely in doubt. The 34-year-old defenseman's fantasy value is already limited to deeper formats, but this gives fantasy owners yet another reason to avoid him. Draft with caution.

Hainsey assisted on Jordan Staal's third-period goal in Thursday's win over the Flyers. As has been the case for the last several seasons, Hainsey has been a non-factor offensively for much of 2014-15. With only 10 points and a minus-14 rating over 80 games this season, Hainsey won't have much hope of regaining fantasy relevance over the remainder of his career.
