Richard Bachman has inked a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers. Bachman had a 2.99 GAA and .908 save percentage in 52 AHL games in 2013-14. He'll probably start the season in the minors and get called up if Viktor Fasth or Ben Scrivens get hurt.

Richard Bachman (groin) has been sent down to the minors. This presumably means that Bachman is healthy enough to play. He has been sidelined since Nov. 2.

Richard Bachman left Saturday's game with a groin injury. The Oilers netminder was making his third straight start. He had given up two goals on nine shots in 13:52 before departing. In relief, Jason LaBarbera really wasn't much better, making 19 of 22 saves.

Richard Bachman has been the best Oilers goalie in the early going. Bachman was recalled on an emergency basis on Sunday as Devan Dubnyk is out of action but his performance in the last two games have put into the Oilers goaltending mix as the team is floundering at 3-9-2. Since he is an emergency callup, Bachman will have to be returned to the minors once Dubnyk is deemed healthy but he should be recalled quickly after that if he continues to play well in net. Bachman was especially outstanding Sunday, stopping 47 of 48 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Kings.

Richard Bachman allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Edmonton's 4-0 loss to Toronto Tuesday night. Bachman started his second straight game for the Oilers and he didn't impress this time. Goaltending has been a huge problem for the Oilers this season so it is not clear who will start the next game for them. Is it Devan Dubnyk, Jason LaBarbera or Bachman? We will have to wait and see.

Richard Bachman will play between the pipes on Tuesday. Bachman earned a second straight start by turning aside 47 of 48 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. Goaltending has been a big problem for Edmonton this season, so there's an opportunity for Bachman to stick with Edmonton if he manages to string together a series of strong starts.

Richard Bachman wanted to make a statement with his start against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. Bachman certainly managed to do that by turning aside 47 of 48 shots in regulation time. He ended up falling short in the shootout that followed, but it was still a superb goaltending performance on a team that's been struggling in that regard this season. Although nothing is set in stone yet, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Oilers start Bachman again on Tuesday.

Goalie Richard Bachman played a remarkable game for the Edmonton Oilers Sunday night despite a 2-1 shootout loss in Los Angeles. Bachman, a former Dallas backup called up to fill in for the injured Devan Dubnyk against the Kings, was busy all night, making 47 saves. Only Mike Richards found a way to beat him in regulation and overtime before Anze Kopitar scored the winning goal in the shootout session.

With Devan Dubnyk sidelined, the Edmonton Oilers decided to call up and start Richard Bachman rather than going with Jason LaBarbera against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. Both Oilers backup options have some history with the Kings. Bachman played against Los Angeles here and there as a Dallas Stars backup while LaBarbera was formerly a backup in L.A. It won't be easy, but a solid performance against the Kings could help Bachman earn future reps.
