Petr Sykora wasn't told for certain that he would play in Game 4, but after practicing with the team on Tuesday he believes he will draw back into the lineup. "I skated on the line," said Sykora, who took part in the session alongside Patrik Elias and Dainius Zubrus. "It looks like I'm playing." He has been scratched for New Jersey's last six playoff games. Coach Pete DeBoer said the team would consider making the change and we'll likely know more following the Devils' morning skate.

Petr Sykora practiced on a line with Patrik Elias and Dainius Zubrus on Tuesday. Sykora has not played since Game 3 of the ECF against the Rangers, but he could dust himself off to help the Devils stave off elimination against the Kings in Wednesday's Game 4. The 35-year-old is 2-2-4 in 15 postseason matches.

Petr Sykora practiced on the fifth line on Sunday. It looks like Sykora will spend Game 3 in the press box. The Devils are already down 2-0 in their series against Los Angeles, so it wouldn't be surprising if New Jersey reinserted Sykora into their lineup. However, they haven't given any indication that they plan to do that yet.

Petr Sykora and rookie defenseman Adam Larsson will be back in the press box as healthy scratches on Wednesday night in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Coach Pete Deboer has confirmed that he will use the same lineup that won Game 4 on Monday. It will mark the second straight game that Sykora hasn't dressed after he dressed in all 82 games during the regular season and the team's first 15 playoff contests.

Petr Sykora, who is projected to be a healthy scratch on Monday, is focused on being ready for when the Devils call on him next. "Obviously, I want to be out there," Sykora said. "I feel like I can score some goals, but it's the way it is." He'll be replaced by Jacob Josefson, who is returning from a wrist injury.

If things keep going as expected, Petr Sykora will be a healthy scratch for the New Jersey Devils on Monday. It's been inspiring to see the aging winger make the team (and make an impact) after needing a training camp tryout to stay in the NHL, but he's only been minimally effective for the Devils during the postseason. It wouldn't be shocking to see him in street clothes for Game 4 (and maybe beyond).

Petr Sykora tallied his first goal of the postseason in Game 1 of New Jersey's second-round series versus Philadelphia. His tally at the 11:22 mark of the third period tied the game at 3-3 and sent it into overtime, where the Flyers eventually got the game-winner and a 1-0 series lead. Sykora has two points and 12 shots in eight games for the Devils during these playoffs.
