Pavelec surrendered four goals on 34 shots in Wednesday's series-ending loss to the Ducks.

The Jets needed Pavelec to replicate his sensational second-half play during the series to have any shot of upsetting the powerful Ducks, but he just couldn't come through. Pavelec gave up four-plus goals three times against the Ducks, and his offense simply wasn't able to pick him up. Fantasy players will have the difficult task next season of assessing whether Pavelec's improved performance in 2014-15 marked a step in the right direction, or merely an aberration for a goalie who owns an ugly 2.86 GAA and .908 save percentage over his career. His postseason play seemed to suggest it's the latter.

Pavelec will be between the pipes for Wednesday's Game 4 against the Ducks.

Pavelec has had a rough first three games of the series, posting a 3.61 GAA and .893 save percentage while taking the loss on all three occasions. Even so, coach Paul Maurice will maintain loyalty to Pavelec, whose dazzling performance down the stretch was largely responsible for why the team was able to secure its playoff spot in the firs place. Frederik Andersen will receive the start in the opposite net.

Pavelec surrendered five goals on 31 shots -- including the overtime game-winner -- in Monday's Game 3 defeat to the Ducks.

After closing the regular season with three consecutive shutouts, Pavelec entered the postseason hotter than just about any goalie out there. Unfortunately, he's failed to replicate that performance thus far in the playoffs, stopping only 92 of the 103 shots (.893 save percentage) he's faced through three games while taking the loss on each occasion. Even with the Jets on the cusp of elimination, it doesn't seem likely that coach Paul Maurice will turn away from Pavelec for Game 4, especially after backup goalie Michael Hutchinson regressed badly in the second half.

Pavelec is slated to start Monday's game against the Ducks.

Down 2-0 in the series, Pavelec and the Jets will look to turn things around at home on Monday, after having been outscored by a combined tally of 6-3 over the first two games of the matchup, which were held in Anaheim.

Pavelec stopped 37 of 39 shots in Saturday's Game 2 loss to the Ducks.

A fantastic bounce-back effort from Pavelec, who beaten for four goals in Thursday's playoff opener. While Pavelec was great Saturday, the Ducks are now up 2-0 in the series and have looked like the better team. With Game 3 set to take place in Winnipeg Monday, look for Pavelec to put up another strong performance in front of what's sure to be an electric home crowd.

Pavelec allowed four goals on 33 shots Thursday to take a playoff-opening loss in Anaheim.

Staked to a 2-1 lead at the second intermission, Pavelec gave up three third-period goals -- two on the power play and one shorthanded -- as the Ducks' stars rallied to victory. Pavelec entered the playoffs red-hot, but he has little room for error, as the Jets desperately need to leave Anaheim with a win in one of the first two games of this series.

Pavelec will be in the crease for Thursday's Game 1 against the Ducks, Tim Campbell of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

Pavelec looked to be on the outs as the Jets' primary netminder after Michael Hutchinson rolled to a 14-4-2 record, 1.90 GAA, and .935 save percentage prior to the All-Star break, but appears to have found a second life. Hutchinson's subsequent second-half collapse opened the door for Pavelec to earn more starts, and the veteran goalie has since delivered some of the best performances of his career to secure the No. 1 job heading into the postseason. Aside from maybe the Senators' Andrew Hammond, no goalie enters the postseason hotter than Pavelec, who posted a 9-2-1 mark and .949 save percentage in his last 12 outings, including shutouts in the final three starts.

Pavelec stopped all 21 shots he faced through 65 minutes, but gave up goals on both Colorado shootout attempts to take a 1-0 loss Thursday.

Pavelec still gets credited with a shutout -- his third in a row -- as does Reto Berra, who stopped 21 more shots in regulation play, then outdueled Pavs handily in the shootout. The Jets' offense has been minimally helpful over the course of Pavelec's shutout streak, but his heroics were enough to help the franchise secure its first playoff spot since moving from Atlanta to Winnipeg.

Pavelec will be between the pipes for Thursday's game against the Avalanche, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

After building a six-game winning streak in March, Pavelec looked bound to revert back to his historically poor form upon surrendering 11 goals during a three-game slate. Instead, he rebounded from that rough spell to spin back-to-back shutouts over playoff-bound teams in the Wild and Blues, outings that firmly reestablished himself as the Jets' top goalie. If he's able to put the clamps on the Avalanche on Thursday, Pavelec will lead the Jets to the postseason for the first time since 2006-07, when they were known as the Atlanta Thrashers.

Pavelec collected his second shutout in as many days Tuesday, stopping all 30 in a 1-0 win over St. Louis.

Following a three-game stretch in which he gave up 11 goals and lost twice, Pavelec's locked things down again all of a sudden -- and against high-quality opponents. His stats just keep improving, and he's got the Jets right in the midst of the playoff hunt.
