Grabovski will return to the ice after coach Jack Capuano strongly hinted on Wednesday that he could be available for Thursday's Game 5 against the Capitals. Coach Jack Capuano said after Wednesday's practice that Grabovski (concussion) has a "real good chance" of playing in Thursday's Game 5 against the Capitals, Katie Strang of ESPN New York reports.

Capuano hasn't made any changes with his forward ranks over the last two games, but with the team generating just three goals during that time, it appears the Isles head man may be willing to mix things up with the series heading back to Washington for Game 5. Grabovski hasn't played since Feb. 19 due to the concussion, but it's believed that he's been in the clear for quite some time now. He practiced Wednesday as a top-12 forward, likely indicating that he'll make his return to the lineup as a member of the team's second or third line.

Grabovksi (concussion) is close to a return to action, according to SNY.tv.

Grabovski would've probably already joined the team if this was the regular season. Coach Jack Capuano hinted Saturday that his absence from the lineup isn't just because of his health. Should the Islanders lose Game 3 they might insert Grabovski for a spark for Game 4.

Grabovski (concussion) is getting close to a return to action, according to SNY.tv.

Grabovski has participated in two full practices to go along with Monday's skate and hasn't suffered any setbacks. In a perfect world the Islanders may like to get Grabovski some game action before the playoffs begin next Wednesday but they may not have that luxury if Friday and/or Saturday become must wins just to get into those playoffs.

Grabovski (concussion) practiced Monday with the Islanders without a non-contact sweater, Newsday's Arthur Staple reports.

Though Grabovski traveled with the Islanders to Philadelphia for Tuesday's game, coach Jack Capuano indicated the forward isn't close to a return. Grabovski has been out of commission with the head injury since Feb. 19, and may need to get some conditioning work in with AHL Bridgeport before the Islanders feel comfortable using him in games. Any return to game action for Grabovski likely wouldn't come until the playoffs.

Grabovski (concussion) skated with the team Friday, according to SNY.tv.

General manager Garth Snow is lucky that everyone remembers his trades for defenders Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk as signing Grabovski to a four-year $20 million contract looks like a bust. Grabovski only has nine goals and 19 points in 51 games this season and unless he not only comes back healthy soon but performs fantastic in the playoff, his first season with the Islanders won't be a memorable one.

Grabovski (concussion) is not close to returning to game action for the Islanders, according to the Islanders Point Blank.

We all know that concussions can be tricky, some players are able to return in a short amount of time while others seemingly take forever to recover. The Isles can afford to let him recover at his own pace as they have a glut of forwards on their roster right now forcing some tough decisions by coach Jack Capuano on a game to game basis.

Grabovski skated prior to the team's practice Wednesday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Grabovski has been sidelined since Feb. 19 since sustaining a concussion and appears to be inching closer to a return. Coach Jack Capuano didn't offer any timetable for the 31-year-old, but a return to the ice is clearly a step in the right direction. He'll likely need to be a full participant in at least one practice before he's cleared for game action.

Grabovski (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday. According to Newsday's Arthur Staple, Grabovski is dealing with a concussion.Grabovski's placement on IR -- nor his diagnosis of a concussion -- register as a surprise after he appeared to be knocked out cold after taking a shoulder to the head from the Predators' Eric Nystrom during the first period of Thursday's win. The forward was ultimately able to skate off the ice, but was quickly ruled out from a return to action. He'll now be required to miss at least three games and won't be eligible to play again until Feb. 27, but it remains uncertain if he would even be ready to go by then. Grabovski will remain under the concussion protocol until his symptoms of the head injury dissipate.

The forward remained motionless for a decent spell of time, with doctors calling for the stretcher before he was able to get to his feet and amble off the ice.
