Weber was traded to Washington on Tuesday
EDGE Analysis
The Capitals were rumored to be in the market for a depth defenseman and Weber certainly fits that description. The 6-foot-2, 217 pound blueliner was acquired for a third-round pick in the 2017 draft. With a deep defense in front of him, Weber is unlikely to get consistent playing time unless there's an injury and his fantasy upside is therefore quite limited. He has one goal, five points, and 32 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Sabres in 2015-16.

Weber scored his first goal of the season in a 7-4 loss to Florida on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It took 34 games, but Weber is finally on the board. The stay-at-home defenseman never scores, and interestingly enough has scored just one goal in each of his past four seasons, so if anything Weber's been a model of (mediocre) consistency. He has no value in fantasy leagues and it's likely the long-time Sabre will not be retained after the season.

Weber scored his fourth assist of the season Sunday against Winnipeg, snapping a five-game stretch where he's been held without a point.
EDGE Analysis
Weber managed the assist despite playing just 10:35. Buffalo's second-round pick from 2006, Weber is an impending unrestricted free agent and is unlikely to be retained given the Sabres' youth movement. Weber is a physical player and dependable shot blocker, but doesn't offer much else and has rotated as the team's seventh defenseman for much of the season. He has just four points in 24 games and has no value in fantasy leagues.

Weber (knee) is ready to play if needed Friday against the Hurricanes, Paul Hamilton of Sports Radio WGR 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weber is still on injured reserve, but would reportedly join the lineup should Zach Bogosian (game-time decision with undisclosed issue) miss the contest. Weber has provided just one point in 10 games this season, and isn't much of an offensive threat in general when healthy.

Weber (knee) still does not have a return date set, reports the Olean Times Herald.
EDGE Analysis
Weber practiced Tuesday but head coach Dan Bylsma said he isn't ready to play. The stay-at-home defenseman has played just 10 games this season. Carlo Colaiacovo will continue to fill in until Weber is ready to make his return.

Weber is week-to-week after undergoing surgery to repair his injured knee Thursday, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weber returned to Buffalo on Wednesday for further examination of his ailment, which apparently revealed the 27-year-old blueliner would require surgery to repair his injured knee. His week-to-week label indicates Weber will likely be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks while recovering from the procedure.

Weber (lower body) has returned to Buffalo for further examination, Mike Harrington of Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's uncelar exactly what the injury is that forced Weber out of Tuesday's contest, but it will hold him out Thursday as well. He's now headed back to Buffalo for re-evaluation, at which point another update on his status will likely be provided.

Weber (lower body) won't play Tuesday against Tampa Bay, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weber reportedly suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's tilt against the Canucks, and will miss Tuesday's matchup with the Lightning as a result. Carlo Colaiacovo will slot into the Sabres' lineup Tuesday against Tampa Bay in Weber's absence.

Weber will draw into the lineup Thursday against Pittsburgh after a two-game absence, reports Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
EDGE Analysis
Weber will dress in front of his hometown crowd and it looks like Carlo Colaiacovo will sit. The stay-at-home defenseman should provide a steady veteran presence on the blue line but doesn't offer much in fantasy. He's pointless in seven games this year.

Weber has been ruled out prior to Saturday's game, Bill Hoppe of the Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weber and Marcus Foligno were ruled out prior to Saturday's game with undisclosed injuries, but more information should be available for fantasy players in the coming days.
