Mike Knuble is resigning himself to the fact that his NHL career could be over. Knuble also had difficulty signing last season as he was unable to agree to a deal until January 25. "I think last year I had a lot more hope that something was going to happen," Knuble said. "This year I'm being more realistic about it. The fact is you've turned 41 . . . now you feel a little more able to just roll with whatever is going to happen." Knuble had four goals and eight points with Philadelphia last season in 28 games.

Mike Knuble will likely be a healthy scratch Saturday against Ottawa. The 41-year-old winger will make a decision in the coming months whether he will retire for good. We have always been supporters of Knuble but it has been some time since he has been a fantasy factor.

Mike Knuble will draw back into Philadelphia's lineup Tuesday night against the Rangers. He has been a healthy scratch for the past two games, but will play in the place of suspended forward Harry Zolnierczyk. Knuble has two goals and four assists in 17 games this season.

Mike Knuble will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday night. In 17 games with the Flyers this season, he has contributed two goals and six points but he has just one assist in his past six appearances. Knuble hasn't seen much ice time either in his last two outings, so he'll sit in favor of Harry Zolnierczyk versus the Capitals.

Mike Knuble called the Flyers' play this season "unacceptable." "That is unacceptable for this team, unacceptable from the last player all the way up to our top guys in the room," said Knuble. "Nobody is happy about it. The league is not going to wait around [for us]. You don't have time to practice. If you're way out of it, you don't have time to play your way out of it. In an [82-game] schedule you can take your time and play your way through it." Knuble wants to see the team play with more urgency and "the will to win."

In a night of firsts, Mike Knuble notched his first goal of the season in his second stint as a Flyer. Knuble spent four years with the organization before signing a three-year deal with the Capitals. "When we had a chance to score we did and finally got the power play going," Flyer captain Claude Giroux said. "That's one of the main reasons why we've struggled this season. "The power play wasn't working. We've been working hard the last three days. We had a lot of penalties in the third period and did a good job killing them." So many things went right. So many "firsts," as well.

Mike Knuble registered an assist Saturday in his first game back with the Flyers after signing a one-year contract Friday. Knuble skated mostly on a line with Brayden Schenn and Scott Laughton and even saw time on the Flyers' second power-play unit.

Mike Knuble is very happy to be back with the Flyers. He spent four years with the organization before signing a three-year deal with the Capitals. "I never really wanted to go, and I said that at the time," Knuble said. "It's a place where you feel very comfortable. The staff, the people you see at the rink every day, you know your way around [the city]. It's a great organization and a place I kind of had to leave because of salary-cap reasons."

The Philadelphia Flyers have officially signed Mike Knuble to a one-year deal. Knuble will help the Flyers cope with the absence of Scott Hartnell (foot), who will miss the next four-to-eight weeks. Knuble had six goals and 18 points in 72 games with the Washington Capitals last season.
