Bournival (concussion) has cleared waivers, per Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada.
EDGE Analysis
Habs head coach Michel Therrien would like Bournival to play in the AHL, per Sportsnet's Eric Engels, and that is now a possible arrangement since he went unclaimed during the waiver process. Bournival recently returned to practice and is still trying to make a full recovery from a concussion that has bothered him since last season.

Bournival signed a one-year (two-way) contract with the Canadiens on Tuesday. Bournival missed time with shoulder and head injuries in 2014-15. When he was healthy, he managed to tally a total of five points in 29 games with Montreal. He will likely split time between the AHL and NHL in 2015-16, and will slot in as a bottom-six forward when with the big club.

Bournival (concussion) skated Thursday morning, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Bournival didn't suit up for AHL Hamilton after March 13 due to the head injury, but it sounds like he's nearly recovered. He could join the Canadiens for practice at some point in the coming days, but won't merit consideration for joining the lineup at any point during their postseason series. The 22-year-old skated in 29 games for the parent club during the regular season, tallying three goals and two assists.

Bournival was reassigned to AHL Hamilton on Monday, TSN's John Lu reports. Forward P.A. Parenteau (concussion) will finally rejoin the lineup, and defenseman Jeff Petry was recently acquired in a trade. The Habs will thus reassign both Bournival and Greg Pateryn, freeing up room for a pair of proven veterans. Bournival only has five points through 29 NHL appearances this season, but he does have eight points in just seven AHL games.
