Talbot gathered an assist in Saturday's 3-2 OT loss to the Flyers, his first point as a Bruin.

Talbot's first point in the black and gold came in style, as set up Brad Marchand's game-winning goal in overtime. The gritty veteran doesn't offer much in terms of fantasy value (16 points in 65 games), but he could be a nice little x-factor for the B's as they push to secure a playoff spot -- especially since Talbot's done his best work in the postseason, with 39 points in 84 games.

In his debut with the Bruins, Talbot saw 10:56 worth of ice time in the team's shootout loss to the Flames on Thursday.

Talbot, acquired from the Avs on Monday in advance of the NHL trade deadline, brings grit and experience to the B's, but his fantasy impact figures to be modest in his role as a bottom-six forward for the team. In 64 games this season, Talbot has recorded five goals and 15 points.

The Avalanche traded Talbot to the Bruins on Monday in exchange for Jordan Caron, TSN.ca reports.

Talbot, who has notched five goals and 10 assists in 63 games with the Avs this season, gives the Bruins some added depth and experience up front, something that will come in handy, with centers Gregory Campbell and David Krejci currently sidelined.

Talbot scored the Avs' lone goal in Saturday's loss to the Wild.

The goal was Talbot's first in a month, but his lack of ice time (7:47) in the game might be the more notable development. An inconsistent minutes count makes it hard to rely on Talbot for much more than the occasional point here or there, which simply isn't good enough to warrant ownership, even in most deep leagues.

Talbot potted his fourth goal of the season in Friday's 3-0 triumph over the Predators.

The tally went down as Talbot's first game-winner of the season. As a fixture in the Avs' bottom six, scoring opportunities are rare for Talbot, and he typically doesn't deliver an overwhelming amount of hits or PIM to compensate for it.

Talbot registered an assist in Saturday's win over the Sabres.

In a rather unusual decision, coach Patrick Roy decided to deploy Talbot, who has typically been a bottom-six forward, on the top line Saturday. He was able to hook up with defenseman Erik Johnson for the Avs' first goal of the game and ended up seeing 19 minutes of ice time. Given that the Avs turned in one of their better games of the season Saturday, it wouldn't be surprising if Talbot stuck around on the top line for another game or two, though it's probably unlikely that he'll remain there permanently.

Talbot scored his first goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's loss to Philadelphia.

His fantasy value has typically been restricted to spot starts over the years and nothing has really changed. This was a nice night, but that's about it.

Talbot picked up his first two points of the season in Thursday's win over the Islanders, handing out a pair of assists to go with a plus-2 rating.

Talbot had just nine shots on goal and not a single point in the first 10 games of the season, but finally woke up on Thursday. He's seen his ice time take a significant hit this year, and though he skated more on Thursday, it's hard not to notice that Talbot's averaging easily his lowest TOI since the 2009-10 season.

Maxime Talbot has played at center and on both wings with the Avalanche.

He's been playing on the ride side recently on the third line, but he prefers to play in the middle. "I feel like I'm more into the game at center," said Talbot. "It's more work, because you're skating more and you have more defensive responsibility. You usually have the middle of the ice, so you're telling yourself to get the puck and distribute it to the sides. Playing center, you feel like you touch the puck more. That's why I say it's a little more work, because you're always moving, whether it's in neutral-zone regroup or in D-zone." He has eight goals and 25 points in 78 games with Colorado and Philadelphia this season.

Maxime Talbot registered a pair of assists for the Avalanche in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to Winnipeg.

Since joining Colorado earlier this season, Talbot has continued to score near his career pace, which works out to about 30 points per season so he's not worth owning in any fantasy formats. Nick Holden, Cody McLeod, Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog were the goal scorers for the Avalanche in the losing effort.
