San Jose GM Doug Wilson stated Thursday that forward Martin Havlat will not be with the club next season. The marriage between the Sharks and Havlat hasn't been the greatest, but considering he's still owed $5 million for the final year of his contract, it sounds as though the team is willing to buy out the deal to rid themselves of him. In the right situation, Havlat could still be an asset to some team's offense next season.

Do not expect to see Martin Havlat in the San Jose lineup Sunday. Havlat was a healthy scratch in Game 1 along with Tyler Kennedy, Matt Irwin, Bracken Kearns and Matt Tennyson and it appears based on practice lines Saturday that coach Todd McLellan will not make any changes.

Martin Havlat had his sixth career hat trick and he also registered an assits as the Sharks defeated the Avalanche 5-1 Friday night. Havlat's last hat trick came Nov. 2, 2005, as an Ottawa Senator against the Buffalo Sabres. Havlat was a healthy scratch Wednesday when the Sharks lost 5-2 at Anaheim and now he returned to the lineup against Colorado, skating on the second line with Logan Couture and Patrick Marleau. Havlat now has 12 and 10 assists in 47 games this season. Marleau also had a strong game with a goal and an assist, while Couture assisted three goals in the victory.

Martin Havlat found the back of the net on Tuesday. Havlat has scored four goals in six games as he tries to finish a rough season on a high note. He has eight goals and seven assists in 37 games in 2013-14.

Martin Havlat chipped in a goal and an assist for the Sharks as San Jose squeezed past the Islanders 4-3 on Friday night. Havlat's season has once again been hampered by injuries. The 13 year veteran who once scored 31 goals and 68 points in 68 games as a 22 year-old has exceeded the been held to just 59 points over the past three seasons.

Martin Havlat scored a goal in San Jose's 3-2 overtime loss to Carolina Tuesday evening. Havlat has been very disappointing this season with only 11 points in 32 games this season. Brent Burns scored the other goal for the Sharks.

Coach Todd MacLellan moved Martin Havlat off the fourth line and replaced him with Tommy Wingels. Havlat has seen his fantasy value drop significantly in the last couple of seasons. Wingels played alongside Patrick Marleau and Logan Couture while Havlat played only 12:41 minutes. He has four goals and 10 points in 31 games so he should not be on your fantasy roster.

With Matthew Nieto (foot) sidelined, Martin Havlat is projected to serve as a top-six forward on Friday. Havlat is coming off a strong game where he had a goal and an assist. He has 10 points in 27 games in 2013-14.

Martin Havlat was activated from the IL on Wednesday January 29.
