Martin Biron will be between the pipes Sunday on the road against Braden Holtby and the Washington Capitals. Biron has been a great backup for Henrik Lundqvist and has proven that he can be trusted when called upon by coach John Tortorella. Although the Rangers have been major underachievers this season, Biron is still a nice spot starter if you have the extra roster space on your fantasy team and are in need of a few quality games played between the pipes. He has a win, a 2.50 GAA and a .911 save percentage in four games this season.

Martin Biron allowed three goals on 31 shots in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders Thursday. All of the Islanders' damage was inflicted during the first half of the second period, but the Rangers backup was otherwise very solid. His career record against the Isles falls to 21-4-2 with the loss.

Just to confirm an earlier post, Martin Biron will start Thursday night versus the Islanders. In his career against the Isles, Biron has been superb while earning a 21-4-1 record with a 2.03 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. His second start of the season will give Henrik Lundqvist the night off.

Martin Biron was the first goalie off the ice Thursday morning, indicating he'll be between the pipes against the New York Islanders. He has only started in one other game for the Rangers this season and it came on Feb. 2 in a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Martin Biron made 30 saves in the Rangers' 3-2 win over the Lightning on Friday night. Biron had a relief appearance earlier in the season, but this was his first start and it didn't look like he missed a beat from last season's stellar back-up work. Biron made 20 starts last season to keep Henrik Lundqvist fresh for the playoffs, meaning he should be good for about 10 more in this shortened campaign.

Martin Biron has played in all of 31 minutes of professional level hockey over the last eight months, but he feels ready to start Saturday. Biron didn't get work in Europe during the lockout and this will be his first start of the shortened season. "I feel good," said Biron. "We did our preparation with Benny (goalie coach Benoit Allaire) the last little while. I've been getting ready, kind of underline some points that you want to focus on, some things you want to do. I've been trusting that for two years now, the work you put in in practice and the game situations we do is going to prepare you for the games. So that's what I've been doing." He was good in his stint in relief of Henrik Lundqvist on Jan. 20, but we wouldn't expect too much of him Saturday, especially against the dangerous Tampa Bay Lightning.

It looks as if Martin Biron will get the start Saturday against the Lightning. He was the first goalie off the ice at practice Saturday which is usually a sign as to who starts that day. Adjust your goaltending rotation accordingly.

Martin Biron skated with a large group of Sabres in Buffalo on Thursday. The Rangers goalie recently moved back to the area and still has a lot of friends from his first NHL team. Still, he's not exactly happy with these skates, as opposed to working out in New York with his teammates. "Obviously, you want to be in camp," Biron said. "I'd much rather be heading to City right now, but you've got to continue working on the process and continue working with the league to get a CBA worked all out. That's what we're concerned about now."
