Bargaining committee member Manny Malhotra of the Vancouver Canucks insists NHL players won't panic with the scrubbing of the Winter Classic, an apparent pressure point for the league. "I think the cancellation of the Winter Classic is trying to create those artificial pressure points," said Malhotra. "We're not surprised by any means. I'm not really concerned with it. The league is creating exactly what they want to create. They want to try and stir up a little bit of hysteria among the players. They want to try to create those wedges with guys wanting to get back at any cost and be rushed into a bad deal. We've been educated on what's going on and why these pressure tactics are being used so, again, we're not fazed by it. It's sad that this is one of their only methods but it is what it is."

NHLPA rep Steve Fehr told reporters that the owners decided not to continue meeting on Monday. Instead, the owners need time to "meet internally," according to Katie Strang. Many onlookers have been negative about this weekends' round of meetings (and it's easy to see why), but Fehr calls them "productive." Or at least he appreciates that they're still engaging in conversation in general.

After suffering a serious eye injury last season, Manny Malhotra excelled in the faceoff circle in 2011-12. Malhotra had a 58.5% faceoff success rate in the regular season and won 64.6% of his faceoffs in the playoffs. That's one big positive for him, but he was limited to 18 points in 78 games after recording 30 points in 72 contests in 2010-11. "I definitely feel confident in my abilities and I'm definitely looking forward to this summer and getting back in shape and being ready from the start instead of playing catch-up," said Malhotra. "It's frustrating to not feel the way you want coming out of the gate. I fully believe I can get to that level I'm accustomed to and what I expect of myself." Malhotra has one season left on his contract and comes with an annual $2.5 million cap hit.

Manny Malhotra's personal problem has been resolved and he was a healthy scratch on Saturday. While Malhotra has no fantasy value, he is a valued member of the Canucks bottom-six forwards.

Manny Malhotra will not play in Saturday's contest against the Blue Jackets. He is still dealing with an undisclosed personal issue. Malhotra is an excellent hockey player but is relatively worthless from a fantasy perspective.

Manny Malhotra (undisclosed)is questionable Saturday. "He has got personal issues he's dealing with and it's going to take a little bit of time," coach Alain Vigneault said without elaborating. "I think he'll be in and out of our surroundings for a while. It's a personal matter. That's it." Consider him day-to-day at best.

Manny Malhotra (foot) is healthy enough to play on Monday. Malhotra missed Sunday's practice. He doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues.

Manny Malhotra was unable to practice with the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. Malhotra doesn't have much fantasy value unless you're in a league with faceoff wins. Even then, he's only third on Vancouver in totals wins. He remains an incredibly efficient player at draws, though, as he has a 57.7 winning percentage right now. Ben Kuzma believes he might have injured his foot while blocking a shot, but the team hasn't confirmed it.

The Canucks have shuffled their third and fourth lines due to the return of Mason Raymond and injuries to Aaron Volpatti and others. Manny Malhotra will be moved down to the fourth unit alongside Max Lapierre and Dale Weise. Raymond will join Cody Hodgson and Jannik Hansen on the third line. Adjust your roster accordingly.
