Jose Theodore turned aside all 30 of the 30 shots he faced in a 3-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night. A subpar performance in Thursday's 4-0 loss to the Devils saw Scott Clemmensen return to the Florida bench in favor of Jose Theodore. It is often hit or miss with Jose in the playoffs. When he is on his game, he is almost impossible to beat. Although Theodore has struggled to find consistency in the playoffs as a starting goalie, he battled hard for the victory tonight.

There's a good chance that Jose Theodore will be back between the pipes for Game 5 on Saturday. The Panthers decided to start Scott Clemmensen on Thursday, but the results were less than satisfying. Clemmensen ended up stopping 23 of 27 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Devils. Theodore has a 3.84 GAA and .884 save percentage in three starts, but those numbers are dragged down by his terrible start to Tuesday's game. He allowed three goals in six minutes before being pulled from that contest.

Jose Theodore was removed from Game Three of the Panthers' opening round playoff series with New Jersey after allowing three goals on six shots. Theodore barely had time to break a sweat, as he hit the showers just over six minutes into the contest. Scott Clemmensen entered the game with the team trailing 3-0 and stopped all 19 shots he faced as Florida came back to win 4-3. It would be a shock if Clemmensen were not named the Game Four starter.

Jose Theodore was sharp Sunday as he turned away 23 of 25 New Jersey shots en route to a 4-2 win in Game Two of their opening round playoff series. Theodore wasn't exactly brilliant in Game One and many wondered whether Scott Clemmensen would be given the nod in the second contest, but the former Vezina Trophy winner was solid and justified Coach Kevin Dineen's decision.

Look for Jose Theodore to start in goal Sunday in Game Two against the Devils. He was ridiculously good Friday night facing 26 shots in the first period alone in a 3-2 loss. The Panthers need this game badly as they do not want to go to New Jersey down 2-0 in the series.

Goaltender Jose Theodore put up quite a fight in front of a raucous and playoff-starved crowd of 19,119 in Florida Friday night, withstanding a ridiculous 26 shots from the New Jersey Devils in the first period to keep his team in the game. The Panthers wound up losing the opener of their series 3-2, but certainly not because of Theodore, and so look for him to start in net for the Panthers in the series' second game Sunday night. "I thought he was really good in the first period," said first-year Panthers head coach Kevin Dineen. "You give up three goals in the first period and that's something you're always questioning about a goalie, but if he doesn't play the way he did we're in trouble. So it was a solid night for our goaltender."

Goalie Jose Theodore was bombarded with 38 shots and stopped 35 but the Florida Panthers still lost the opener of the best-of-seven playoff series. The New Jersey Devils prevailed 3-2. The Devils opened the game in Florida with a barrage of shots on Theodore, firing 12 before the six-minute mark. Theodore was stellar the rest of the game and shut out the Devils, but the Panthers could score only two goals, both in the second period. The two teams will reunite Sunday night for the second game of the series.

Jose Theodore is the probable starter for Florida on Friday. That being said, the Panthers have declined to name their starting goaltender for Game 1 of their series against the New Jersey Devils. Theodore has been their number on goaltender this season, but he's struggled lately while Scott Clemmensen has excelled.

Jose Theodore doesn't have a problem with coach Kevin Dineen waiting to name his starting goaltender for Friday's playoff opener. "He's been like that all year and it worked for us; we won the division," Theodore said. "We're not doing anything different. You don't change what you do when you're winning." There have been indications that Scott Clemmensen will get the nod over Theodore though based his superior work down the stretch.

Jose Theodore allowed four goals on 24 shots in the Panthers' 4-2 loss to the Capitals Thursday night. The Florida Panthers ended one of the longest playoff droughts in major North American sports Thursday night despite a 4-2 loss. The Panthers haven't played a playoff game since 2000 but will get a chance to win the big prize in 2012. Maybe Panthers fans will bring back the rats.
