Tootoo notched an assist in Monday's win over the Coyotes, extending his point streak to three games. The Devils have shown a willingness of late to give Tootoo more opportunities outside of his usual checking role. He's been skating on the third line in recent contests and is also seeing duty on the Devils' second power-play unit, which has allowed him to increase his offensive output. Even so, with only eight points in 46 games this season, Tootoo will need to provide more scoring before warranting more fantasy appeal.

Tootoo picked up an assist in Friday's win over the Maple Leafs. Assists are always nice to see from the fourth-liner, but it's his penchant for fighting (and racking up PIM) that will drive his value most nights. By virtue of averaging only 7:07 of ice time this season, scoring opportunities don't often come about for Tootoo, who has only five points in 38 games.

Tootoo scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 4-1 triumph over the Sabres. It's just the third point of the season for the fourth-line tough guy. Tootoo has a fairly regular spot in the Devils' lineup, but he's only useful for those in need of help in the hits or PIM categories.

Tootoo (foot) was activated from injured reserve Friday, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. Tootoo was considered close to returning to action Thursday against the Blues, but the team decided to give him an additional day to cover from the bruised foot. Now that he's seemingly healthy and ready to go, expect Tootoo to rejoin the fourth line for Friday's tilt with the Red Wings.

Tootoo (foot) will not be activated from injured reserve in advance of Thursday's game against the Blues, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. Tootoo was deemed healthy enough to join the Devils on their two-game road swing and was on the ice for morning skate Thursday, but coach Pete DeBoer determined that the winger wasn't quite ready to play yet. It seems reasonable to think that Tootoo could be in option for the second game of the back-to-back Friday, when DeBoer might be more willing to rest one of his fourth liners to create an opening in the lineup.

Tootoo (foot) will join the Devils for their back-to-back road games in St. Louis on Thursday and Detroit on Friday, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. Tootoo was cleared to make the trip after taking part in Wednesday's optional practice. The fourth-liner, who is working his way back from a bruised foot, remains on injured reserve, so he won't be cleared to play until the Devils formally activate him.

Tootoo (foot) practiced with the team Monday morning, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. Tootoo is still on IR, but should be treated as day-to-day since he is eligible to be activated at any time. Even though the winger may be ready to return to the lineup, he practiced as an extra forward Monday, so he likely won't be in the lineup Tuesday against the Blues.

Tootoo has a bone bruise on his left foot, and has been placed on the injured reserve, retroactive to Oct. 21, and is considered day-to-day. His foot isn't broken, which is good news, but he will need to sit out until Oct. 28 after being placed on injured reserve.

Tootoo (foot) will not play in the Devils' next two games Friday and Saturday, Rich Chere of The Ledger reports. GM Lou Lamoriello would not reveal the results of the X-rays taken of Tootoo's foot, but he did rule Tootoo out for both of the Devils' games this weekend. It's not clear if Tootoo will miss further action beyond Saturday's game, but his next opportunity to take the ice will come Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Tootoo missed Wednesday's practice with a foot injury, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Tootoo hurt himself while blocking a shot Tuesday against the Rangers and was sent in for an X-ray for further clarity on the matter. If the injury is deemed severe enough to keep him out of the lineup Friday against Dallas, Jacob Josefson or Damien Brunner would likely step in to take his spot on the fourth line.
