Quick stopped 20 of 21 shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Sharks.

Thus ends a tumultuous season for Quick, who was as inconsistent as the rest of the Kings but ended up with a very respectable 36-22-13 record, 2.24 GAA and .918 save percentage. With a full offseason of rest on the horizon -- coupled with the sting of missing the playoffs after winning two of the last three Stanley Cups -- look for Quick to come back sharper than ever in October.

Quick will be in the cage for Saturday's tilt with the Sharks, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.

Thursday's loss to the Flames eliminated the Kings from the playoff, but Quick won't be rested for what amounts to a bragging-rights game against the team's California rivals. Quick played well down the stretch to give the Kings a shot at earning a return trip to the postseason, and carries a respectable 35-22-13 record, 2.26 GAA, and .917 save percentage. He'll be one of the few No. 1 netminders starting on the ultimate game of the regular season, making him one of the better goalie options among Saturday's slate.

Quick gave up two goals on 24 shots in Thursday's loss to the Flames, officially putting the Kings out of the running for a playoff spot.

It looked at times like the Kings were going to ramp things up, just like they did at the end of last year, but they could never get that going on a consistent basis despite strong play by Quick throughout February, March and April. It's yet to be determined whether Quick or Martin Jones will backstop the Kings' final game Saturday before they enter golf season.

Quick is in line to start Thursday's game against the Flames, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.

After giving way to Martin Jones in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Oilers, look for Quick to start the Kings' final two regular season games, with the team clawing to get back into the NHL playoff mix.

Quick was marvelous Monday in stopping 37 of 38 shots before falling 2-1 in a shootout to the Canucks.

He was perfect through nearly 50 minutes of play before Daniel Sedin beat him midway through the third. With the Kings playoff lives very much on the line and just three games remaining, Quick could very well start again Tuesday night against Edmonton. Even against the lowly Oilers, playing a second time in less than 24 hours -- especially on the road -- after a heavy workload like Quick faced against Vancouver is no easy task, so owners in daily leagues will want to pay close attention to see who gets the nod for the Kings.

Quick had an easy night Saturday, stopping nine of 10 shots in a win over the Avalanche.

Quick advances to 35-21-12 on the season with a .916 save percentage and 2.28 GAA. The Kings are battling for a playoff spot, so you can surely bet the 29-year-old will be in the cage for all the renaming games. With just two losses in his last seven outings, Quick is an automatic roll every game.

Quick will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Avalanche, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.

The Kings enter play Saturday tied with the Jets for the final wild-card berth, so the team will continue to hitch its wagon to Quick until their standing in the Western Conference is solidified. Quick has been stellar in his previous two appearances against the Avalanche this season, posting a 1.50 GAA and .955 save percentage while winning on both occasions.

Quick made 28 saves on 30 shots in Thursday's 8-2 walloping of the Oilers.

Coming off consecutive losses, the Kings needed Quick to get back to his winning ways, and he did against the sad-sack Oilers. Next, he and his teammates will try to keep it up Saturday against the Avs as they continue seeking to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Quick was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is slated to start Thursday against the Oilers, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.

With the Kings two points off the pace for the final wild-card spot, every game from here on out represents a must-win. Unsurprisingly, the Kings will go with their top netminder in Quick on Thursday, and it's likely he'll continue to play on an every-game basis until the team is eliminated from postseason contention. Quick finished March with a 8-5-2 record, 2.13 GAA, and .918 save percentage over 15 starts.
