The 26-year-old right wing certainly could stand to get on a bit of a hot streak here, as he's been in quite the slump for awhile now -- he's only got two goals in his last 13 games. Unless he heats up here in the near future, Hayes is of little value in most formats.

Hayes is a candidate to work on a line with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron Wednesday night against the Flyers.

EDGE Analysis

With Hayes -- who has scored in two of the B's last three games -- on track to move up to the Bergeron line, it looks like David Pastrnak will work on the team's third unit, along with Brett Connolly and Joonas Kemppainen. Considering the caliber of his likely linemates, Hayes could represent a sneaky RW play in fantasy lineups as long as the combos stick.

Hayes has been lighting the lamp with a decent degree of regularity recently, as he's now got five in the last six games thanks to a hat trick back on Dec. 29. The former Blackhawk and Panther is up to 21 points in 39 games this year and should be able to eclipse the career-high 35 he posted with Florida last season.

Hayes hadn't found his way onto the scoresheet in the last four games and had in fact gone without a shot on goal in five of eight coming in, but that was quickly forgotten after he conspired with Kevan Miller to open the scoring eight minutes into the third period. The 26-year-old is still skating minimal minutes -- incredibly, just 11:48 on Tuesday -- so it's going to be hard for him to keep it up on a consistent basis.

He's currently on pace for 40.

Hayes was the Bruins' spare forward during Monday morning line rushes in advance of the team's evening game against Nashville.

Hayes was scratched for Saturday's game against the Canucks and it looks like the Bruins will stick with the line combos that helped them to a 4-0 win in the contest. Hayes, who has 12 points in 24 games overall, thus looks like the odd man out up front for the team now, after having notched just one helper over his last 12 games.
