The netminder is winless in his six appearances this season, not to mention logging an abysmal 3.94 GAA, so it would come as no surprise if the team wanted to go in a different direction. Look for an update on the 28-year-old's status once his waiver status clears up.

Enroth allowed three first-period goals on just 10 shots, and the Maple Leafs couldn't overcome the deficit. The 28-year-old veteran is still looking for his first win of the season, and he's only started four games all year. Considering the inexperience of the Toronto lineup, and Enroth's lack of opportunity, he isn't worth owning in most fantasy leagues.

Enroth will start between the pipes in Wednesday's road game against the Flames, TSN's Mark Masters reports.

Enroth hasn't been great in limited action with the Maple Leafs this season, posting an 0-2-1 record with an ugly 4.20 GAA and .866 save percentage over five appearances. The 28-year-old backstop will look to pick up his first win of the campaign in a favorable road matchup with a Flames team that's only averaging 2.24 goals per game this season, 28th in the NHL.

Enroth made 26 saves through overtime in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Devils.

The Leafs gave him a 3-0 lead, but the Devils stormed back to tie it in a 5:02 span at the start of the second. Enroth hadn't played since Nov. 8 when he appeared in relief and his last start was Oct. 30. He just doesn't get enough starts to help most squads.

The Devils are far from intimidating in the attacking zone, but Enroth catches them at a particularly good time as star forward Taylor Hall -- 12 points in 14 games -- is out with a knee injury. Of course, Enroth will need all the help he can get as he's gone 0-2-0 with a 4.41 GAA and .866 save percentage over two starts and four appearances.

Enroth replaced starter Frederik Andersen in Tuesday's 7-0 loss to the Kings. He allowed three goals on 17 shots.

Sigh. The game illustrated the true distance the young Leafs have to go to be truly competitive in the NHL. Andersen got no support, but neither did Enroth.

Honestly, he didn't really get much help from his defence -- they left him high and dry far too many times. Sunday was just Enroth's second start of the season. At this pace, he'll get 20 starts on the season. There's just not enough value in his game right now to use up a roster space.
