Carter (lower body) will play Saturday against the Red Wings, Seth Rorabaugh of TribLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter exited Thursday's win over Boston with a lower-body issue, but whatever forced him from that contest clearly wasn't overly serious. The 37-year-old vet has collected three points through his last four games.

Carter is being evaluated for a lower-body injury after leaving Thursday's game versus the Bruins, Mike DeFabo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter twice retreated to the locker room in the third period, and the second time was for the remainder of the contest. He picked up an assist prior to his exit, giving him five points through nine games in April. More information on Carter should be available before Saturday's game versus the Red Wings. The Penguins should be fine for their second-line center even if Carter misses time, as Evgeni Malkin is set to return from a suspension Saturday.

Carter picked up a helper in Tuesday's 6-4 defeat to the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
Carter remains stuck in a four-game goal drought but could be shifted back to his preferred center position if Jason Zucker (lower body) is cleared to play against the Rangers on Thursday. Regardless of where he is lining up, the veteran figures to remain a solid top-half fantasy target even without a spot on the No. 1 power-play unit.

Carter scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
It's the first multi-point performance for the 37-year-old center since Jan. 20, and Carter managed only two goals and six points through 19 games in between. His numbers this season are about the same as last, and while Carter's third-line placement and spot on the second power-play unit still give him some value in deeper fantasy formats, his inconsistency can be tough to swallow.

Carter scored the game-winning goal Thursday in a 2-0 victory over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
Carter one-timed a pass from Kris Letang shelf over Matt Murray's blocker in the second period. The snipe snapped a five-game point drought that dated back to Jan. 25, the day before he inked his two-year contract extension. At 37, Carter is on pace to record at least 50 points, including as many as 25 goals, which would be his best single-season production since 2016-17. He's a solid depth option in redraft formats, but dynasty managers should not overrate this offensive resurrection. The probability of it extending into 2022-23 is slim.

Carter agreed to terms on a two-year, $6.25 million contract extension with Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter joined the Penguins from the Kings back in April of 2021 with a year and a half remaining on the 11-year, $58 million deal he signed with the Flyers back in November of 2020. With 21 goals and 16 helpers in just 50 games for Pittsburgh, it seems the veteran is eager to stick around the Steel City for a little longer. When everybody is healthy, Carter figures to anchor the Pens' third line, though has been called upon to play further up the depth chart from time to time.

Carter netted a goal in a 3-2 shootout win over the Jets on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Carter missed the first three games of the new year (not injury related) but has since put up three goals and five assists in eight games since. The veteran center has benefitted on a per-game basis since joining Pittsburgh two seasons ago and this season sits at 12 goals and 13 assists in 35 games.

Carter dished out two assists in Thursday's 6-4 win over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
Carter helped set up some secondary scoring, assisting on goals by Dominik Simon and Mike Matheson. With three multi-point outings in his last five games, Carter's proving that he can remain effective despite being bumped down to the third-line center role with both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin healthy.

Carter notched a pair of assists, including one on the power play, in Monday's 5-3 win over the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
Carter set up Jason Zucker's goal to spark the Penguins' comeback in the second period, and he also found Sidney Crosby on the empty-netter to finish off the win. The 37-year-old Carter added six shots and three hits in the win. The veteran center moved back to his natural position after a couple of games on the wing, filling a third-line role with power-play duties Monday. He's up to 22 points (four on the power play), 106 shots on net, 40 hits and a minus-3 rating through 32 contests. While Carter's been solid, moving down the lineup is likely to slow his scoring pace going forward.

Carter scored twice, logged two hits and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Carter moved to left wing with Evgeni Malkin (knee) back in the lineup, though the former took 12 faceoffs and won nine of them. The 37-year-old Carter had the opening tally just 1:05 into the game and added an empty-netter in the third period. Carter's up to 11 tallies, 20 points, 92 shots on net, 35 hits, 22 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 29 contests. He'll continue to be a solid depth option in fantasy as long as he's in the top six.
