Jay Pandolfo has announced his retirement. Pandolfo, 38, is hanging up his skates after playing in 899 NHL games primarily with the New Jersey Devils. Towards the end of his career, he also spent a season with the New York Islanders and the shortened campaign with the Boston Bruins. He had 100 goals and 226 career points. He also won the Stanley Cup in 2000 and 2003 as a member of the Devils.

Jay Pandolfo won't be brought back by Boston for next season. According to the Boston Globe's Fluto Shinzawa, Pandolfo is leaning toward retirement. He played in 18 games with the Bruins during the 2013 campaign and watched the playoffs from the press box as a healthy scratch.

Jay Pandolfo participated in Monday's morning skate on the fourth line with Rich Peverley and Shawn Thornton. If Patrice Bergeron cannot play in Game 6 then could make his first appearance of the 2013 postseason. Pandolfo hasn't dressed since April 6 and he'll be a healthy scratch again if Bergeron is able to suit up Monday night.

Despite an injury to Nathan Horton (shoulder), Jay Pandolfo likely won't get a chance to play Saturday night in Game 2 of the Cup finals. If Horton can't go, Jordan Caron or Carl Sodeberg are better bets to dress. Pandolfo has not played since April 6th, and was not really effective in 18 regular season games registering no points.

Jay Pandolfo replaced Chris Bourque on the third line Thursday night. Pandolfo, who had been primarily a fourth-liner, was a minus-one in 11:42 of ice time. It's very likely this is a short-term thing as the Bruins are shopping for a No. 3 left wing.

Jay Pandolfo made his season debut Sunday. Milan Lucic was back in Boston to deal with a personal matter, so Pandolfo, who had recently signed a one-year deal, was inserted into the lineup, despite not having any game time under his belt this season. Pandolfo went on to play 6:48 with three hits.

Jay Pandolfo successfully cleared waivers Wednesday and will stay with the team for now as a spare forward. He can be assigned to AHL Providence to see game action and he's prepared to go down to the minors to keep himself fresh if it comes to that. "I'm sure I'll spend some time down there," said Pandolfo, who signed a one-year deal with the Bruins on Tuesday. "I don't know if it will be now or a little bit later. I'll take it day by day and see what they do."

A source tells CSNNE's Joe Haggerty that the Boston Bruins signed Jay Pandolfo to a one-year, $600,000 contract. The Bruins placed Pandolfo on waivers Tuesday, which led many to believe Pandolfo had signed after spending weeks working out with the team as an unsigned free agent. If he clears waivers, it's possible Pandolfo could spend a few games in the AHL to get his conditioning up to game level. Either way, he doesn't have a ton of fantasy value in most formats.

Boston Bruins place W Jay Pandolfo on waivers. The move means Boston has likely signed Pandolfo and plans on adding him to its active roster once Pandolfo clears waivers. He'll likely compete for a spot in the Bruins' bottom six forwards and doesn't possess fantasy value in most formats. We'll update you as soon as we know more.

Despite remaining without a contract, Jay Pandolfo continues to practice with the Boston Bruins. In fact, it appears he's also traveling with the team. That might seem like a lot for a guy who's only a tryout, but perhaps this means he'll get a chance to actually crack the Bruins' lineup.
