The veteran netminder is 1-4-1 over his last six outings with a 4.01 GAA and .876 save percentage. He's doing little to push Sam Montembeault for playing time, or make himself a possible trade chip for the Habs.

Allen will start at home against the Blues on Sunday.

Allen has a 5-9-3 record, 3.43 GAA and .901 save percentage in 17 contests this season. He's allowed at least three goals in each of his last five outings. Sam Montembeault started the front end of Montreal's back-to-back set Saturday against the Stars, leaving Allen a comparatively easier matchup against a Blues team that's averaging 2.84 goals per game -- seventh-fewest in the NHL.

Allen made 30 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Allen played well enough but has allowed at least three goals in five straight starts. He lost four of those games. Allen is 5-9-3 with a 3.43 GAA and .901 save percentage in 17 starts. Those numbers are pedestrian, but they've come behind a subpar squad. The Habs will likely try to trade him before the deadline. His value would go up, even as a backup with a competitive team.

Ottawa's final goal was scored into an empty net. Allen got very little help from his defense -- the Sens' first goal came when they won an offensive-zone faceoff while shorthanded, and Ridly Greig was somehow still left alone to scoop up a rebound in front of the netminder. Allen has given up at least three goals in all four of his starts since Christmas, going 1-3-0, and his 3.46 GAA and .900 save percentage on the season aren't helping boost his trade value as the Habs look to simplify their three-headed goalie committee.
