Zetterberg went plus-3 and snapped a four-game pointless drought Saturday with a 6-4 home win over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
As noted by The Detroit News, captain Zetterberg confronted his teammates following Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the lowly Coyotes, pleading for everyone to step up, at the time saying, "It starts the next game, here. We've got to win that one. The next one. Let's start with one game, a 60-minute effort." While the Red Wings only managed one goal in a loss to the Kings in that "next one," it seems like Big Z properly set the tone with his own performance Saturday, and Tomas Tatar certainly received the message as he posted his first career hat trick. Considering that Detroit has been slammed with injuries this season, Zetterberg is faring well -- 21 points in 32 games, plus-5 rating -- despite being rather inconsistent on a game-to-game basis.
