Visnovsky signed a PTO with the Blackhawks on Wednesday and will attend training camp with them,Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.

The 39-year-old Visnovsky has been a solid contributor to the Islanders blue line over the past three seasons, but has been unable to stay on the ice, playing in just 112 games over the past three seasons. He's effective as a puck mover and can contribute on the power play, but his lengthy history of concussions puts a damper on his value to the team. He'll have a chance to compete for the final defenseman spot in camp.
