The Sabres' struggles is taking a big toll on Gorges, reports The Buffalo News. The Sabres are three losses away from tying the NHL record for consecutive games lost with 17 and Gorges has been the center of attention with a league-worst minus-27 rating. Though team captain Brian Gionta insists that it's not reflective of Gorges' play, it's certainly a stat that has been weight on Gorges. The veteran defenseman is making his first return to Montreal, who unexpectedly traded him to Buffalo. As much pressure as Gorges puts on himself as the club's on and off-ice leader, the team is still very young and raw. Gorges has six assists in 41 games this season and other than blocked shots has been a marginal fantasy player this year.
