Stoner is facing five charges related to the trophy hunting of a grizzly bear in British Columbia back in May 2013, Larry Pynn of the Vancouver Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stoner is being charged with two counts of making a false statement to obtain a license, one count of hunting without a license, one count of hunting wildlife out of season, and one count of unlawful possession of dead wildlife. All of the charges pertain to Canada's residency requirement, which Stoner did not fulfill at the time since he was living out of the province of British Columbia at the time while he was a member of the Wild. Stoner, who is expected to skate on the Ducks' third defensive pairing this season, isn't expected to miss training camp as a result of the charges, but he will have to appear in court in Vancouver on Oct. 9, one day before the club's regular-season opener in San Jose.
