Stempniak skated with Adam Lowry and Blake Wheeler at Tuesday's practice, and is likely to play with them on the Jets' third line when Winnipeg takes on Ottawa Wednesday, Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press reports. It remains unclear how much ice time Stempniak will average with his new club, however, the fact that he skated with Wheeler and Lowry on Winnipeg's third line at Tuesday's practice bodes well for the veteran winger. Judging from his soon-to-be line-mate's averages, he'll likely get a little over 13 minutes of ice time per game with the Jets. While that isn't a significant improvement on the 12:26 minutes of ice time he averaged per game with New York, the improved talent surrounding Stempniak could lead to a modest boost in production for him. Stempniak tallied nine goals and nine assists in 53 games with the Rangers this season, and will look to improve on those numbers with Winnipeg as the 2014-2015 campaign draws to a close. Fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach with Stempniak until his role with his new team becomes clearer.
