Staal collected an assist Tuesday, but the Hurricanes ultimately took a 4-3 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets. With consideration to a fractured fibula that he sustained last September, Staal has been serviceable with the puck. He has four goals and 13 assists in 29 games. On the downside, the Hurricanes have a poor goal differential (-23) and it's led to a plus/minus rating of minus-5 for Staal. Still, unless you play in a very shallow league, there is little reason not to throw Staal in your lineup each time he takes the ice.
