Smith stopped 29 of 32 shots Tuesday in a 3-2 loss to Calgary. Smith had been on something of a hot streak by his standards, with three wins in his last five outings, but with this loss, he became the first goalie to absorb 40 regulation defeats in a season since Marc Denis dropped 41 in 2002-03 for the Blue Jackets. Ouch.
