Shattenkirk (abdominal surgery) took part in the Blues' morning skate Tuesday, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports. Coach Ken Hitchcock relayed after the skate that Shattenkirk's return should be "pretty quick," though he didn't offer a much more precise timetable beyond that. Shattenkirk saw some involvement during power-play drills with the team Tuesday, but probably need a few more contact sessions with the Blues before being activated from IR. His impending return will provide a huge boost to the team's defensive ranks before the playoffs begin.
