Orpik (lower body), who has been ruled out of Friday's game against the Stars, was able to skate on his own during the morning, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports. Orpik will sit out a second straight contest, but seems to be trending in the right direction with his recovery. He should be considered day-to-day in advance of Sunday's tilt with the Bruins.
