McDonagh notched a pair of assists -- one on the power play -- over 26:10 of ice time in Monday's win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
His big minutes finally paid off, as McDonagh got on the scoresheet for the first time this season by assisting on a pair of second-period tallies that gave the Rangers a two-goal cushion heading into what ended up being a wild third frame. New York essentially played with five defensemen in that last period, as Dylan McIlrath got benched for a bad penalty earlier in the game. McDonagh's minutes may get eased off a little bit once Dan Girardi and/or Kevin Klein can return from injury, but the captain's still going to be the Rangers' most heavily used blueliner.
