Kane's first season with the Sabres ended prematurely with an upper-body injury, but still managed to finish with 20 goals and 35 points in 65 games.
EDGE Analysis
Since the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, Kane has failed to play a full 82-game season, a slightly troubling development for a player who plays with a noted physical edge. After setting a lofty personal goal of scoring 40 goals this season, Kane managed just half that number, and has not scored 30 goals in any season since his first year in Winnipeg. A few off-ice incidents kept Kane in Buffalo's doghouse, but when he's focused and driving to the net, he's still a very formidable power forward. He showed good chemistry with top center Ryan O'Reilly, and is slated to play on his left wing again. The key for Kane next season is to stay healthy.
