Johan Hedberg, who accepted a tryout with the Rangers, isn't aware of why Martin Biron missed the opening of training camp for personal reasons. Biron isn't expected to miss much time due to this, but either way, this is a chance for Hedberg to extend his playing career. The final season of Hedberg's contract was bought out by the New Jersey Devils after they acquired Cory Schneider. "Hopefully, something will happen here and if that wouldn't be the case, then we'll reevaluate and see," Hedberg said. "But at least I know that I'm going to have a really good training camp. I'm here with a very open mind to try to make the most of the opportunity and then we'll see what happens."
