Garrioch adds that Hoffman's punishment -- assuming there is one -- will result in a four-game ban as the worst-case scenario, or he may only be fined, considering that it's a phone hearing as opposed to a mandated appearance in front of any type of hockey court. Hoffman was assessed a major penalty and ejected from the game due to the controversial play, and working against him is that Couture left with an undisclosed injury.
