Hamilton is on track to become a restricted free agent if he doesn't sign a new deal with the Bruins before July 1, NHL.com reports. Coming off a 2014-15 season in which he recorded career-highs in goals (10) and points (42) in 72 games for the Bruins, the 22-year-old is clearly due for a salary bump. Though the team naturally wishes to retain the promising blueliner, the B's are dealing with some salary-cap constraints, which present some challenges on that front. If Hamilton is not signed before the start of free agency, it's possible that another team (with more cap space) could swoop in and sign him to an offer sheet.
