Halak made 36 saves on 38 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The stats are nice, but they don't tell the story of how incredibly well Halak played in this game, particularly in the first and third periods. He stoned the Rangers on 16 first-period shots, including at least three ultra-premium scoring opportunities, and held strong over the game's final minute-plus despite his teammates taking two penalties. Of course, the problem with Halak is that he can look unbeatable one night and mediocre the next. Nonetheless, he seems to be staking out his claim on true No. 1 duties ahead of Thomas Greiss.
